Melbourne Social Neuroscience Symposium

Hi all,

Not sure if this is the place to do it, but I just thought I’d bring to the attention of the group that there is a free (two day) symposium at Melbourne Uni in early March. Brief overview from the event blurb below, along with the link to register for the event.

This inaugural meeting aims to bring together Australian researchers with an interest in the exciting and growing field of social neuroscience. Join us for this two day free event, which will include keynote talks from leaders in the field (including Martin Reuter, University of Bonn, Germany, Eddie Harmon-Jones, University of New South Wales, Tom Denson, University of New South Wales, and Nick Allen, University of Melbourne), brief talks from invited local researchers, and student participation.

Social neuroscience is a field of research that aims to understand how the brain mediates social cognition, social interactions and relationships, and group social dynamics. It also covers related topics that deal with social/personality psychology and neurobiology. A range of disciplines and methodological approaches will be represented at the symposium including neuroimaging, neuropsychology, pharmacology, genetics, evolution, psychiatry, social and cognitive psychology.
