Two articles I’ve come across this morning that others might find interesting – Granted, they’re not the greatest news-source sites! Just some interesting reading.
Aly, this one might be of interest to you. Especially after our discussion last week about including young adults/adults in your Cyber-bullying sample. The article says that research about adult cyber-bullying has been “largely ignored“, which furthers the importance of including those older than adolescents.
Cyber bullying against adults: A victim’s story
This other one, i found particularly interesting, given my interest in seeking attention online.
“Then, with a single tap, you are ready to upload: to Twitter, to Facebook, to Instagram, each likeness accompanied by a self-referential hashtag. Your image is retweeted and tagged and shared. Your screen fills with thumbs-up signs and heart-shaped emoticons. You are “liked” several times over. You feel a shiver of – what, exactly? Approbation? Reassurance? Existential calm? Whatever it is, it’s addictive. Soon, you repeat the whole process, trying out a different pose. Again and again, you offer yourself up for public consumption.”
Happy Mondays! 🙂
